A team of class action attorneys has recently launched a nationwide
investigation into the "reimbursement lien" practices
of health insurance companies. The typical situation involves
a person who gets injured in an accident, gets treated by a doctor
or a hospital and then sues the person who injured them. Often
the insurance company or the employer will then assert a "reimbursement
lien" against any recovery the injured person makes against
third party who injured them, supposedly to reimburse the company
for amounts paid out for your medical care.
If you were injured and had a "reimbursement lien"
asserted against a recovery you made against a third-party, you
may have a claim.
