If you or a loved one used Fixodent denture cream and suffered neurological damage such as neuropathy, contact a lawyer!
A team of class action attorneys and personal injury lawyers has launched an investigation into Fixodent, the popular over-the-counter denture cream sold by Proctor & Gamble, which may be linked to zinc toxicity, copper depletion, and severe neurological damage, including , neuropathy.
Fixodent contains zinc to act as a bonding agent and to block odor. Excessive zinc consumption (known as hyperzincemia) can lead to copper depletion (known as hypocupremia), which can cause neurological damage such as neuropathy. An August 2008 study published in the medical journal Neurology reported on patients who were diagnosed with neuropathy and had suffered from zinc poisoning linked to their use of denture cream.
Fixadent denture cream products include Fixodent Comfort, Fixodent Complete, Fixodent Control, Fixodent Control Plus Scope Flavor, Fixodent Extra Hold Powder, Fixodent Free, Fixodent Fresh, Fixodent Original and Fixodent Regular Hold Powder.
Symptoms of zinc poisoning neuropathy include balance problems, numbness, tingling or weakness in the hands or feet (pins and needles sensation), decreased walking stride or difficulty walking, unexplained pain or loss of sensation, lack of coordination, paralysis and/or loss of sensation.
If you or your loved ones have ever taken Fixodent and have suffered from any symptoms of zinc poisoning neuropathy potentially associated with the use of Fixadent, you may be entitled to money.**
