A team of class action attorneys and personal injury lawyers has launched an investigation into hip replacement products, DePuy ASR XL Acetabular System (total hip replacement) and the DePuy ASR Hip Resurfacing System (hip resurfacing), manufactured by DePuy Orthopedics, Inc., the orthopedic division of Johnson & Johnson.
In August 2010, DePuy Orthopedics issued a recall on the DePuy ASR XL Acetabular System and the DePuy ASR Hip Resurfacing System. Data from the National Joint Registry (NJR) of England and Wales reportedly showed that more people than expected who received the DePuy ASR Hip System experienced pain and other symptoms that led to a second hip replacement surgery, called a revision surgery, following an initial DePuy ASR hip implant or replacement.
Symptoms and side effects from DePuy hip implant failure may include: unexplained hip pain, thigh pain or groin pain, pain with walking, pain rising from a seated position, pain with weight bearing, loosening of the DePuy ASR hip implant, dislocation of the DePuy ASR hip implant, hip failure, and hip bone fracture.
If you or your loved ones had hip replacement surgery with the DePuy ASR XL Acetabular System or the DePuy ASR Hip Resurfacing System, you may be entitled to compensation.**
**If you received the DePuy ASR XL Acetabular System or DePuy ASR Hip Resurfacing System, we urge you to promptly consult your doctor or physician for an evaluation.
